Happy Birthday to Me!

As of today I am closer to 30 than 20. That’s a scary thought!

My mum gave me lots of lovely presents – most of them sewing-related. I’m very happy πŸ˜€

So because it’s my day and I can do what I want, I have left the yucky baking washing-up andΒ popped on here to share them with you like-minded sewing people!

Sewing prezzies!

I am now the proud owner of the Coco pattern! Hooray!

Coco pattern

I will be using it very soon along with one of the knits I bought last week (probably the blue one).

And whilst we’re on the subject of the successes of The Great British Sewing Bee contestants – I have got Lauren’s ‘Learn to Sew with Lauren’ book. I really liked Lauren on the show. She reminds me of myself. Although she’s a better sewer! I think it’s just the blue eyes, blonde hair part of her… Oh, plus on one episode she messed something up and it made her cry – that’s something I would do if I was there!

This is a beautiful embroidery kit to make such a sweet purse. I’m so looking forward to starting this!

And look at this cuuuuute flower buttons – and some ever-so-practical dressmaking pins. You can never have too many of these. The last lot I bought had loads of blunt ones! I mean, they didn’t even have a point at all. Hopefully these will be better!

And last but definitely not least is this amazing sewing tin. Oh, the stuff I could stash in here…

My cake-monster of a daughter was not happy that it had no cake in, though. Luckily for her, she will get some later πŸ™‚

Isn’t my mum the best?!

If you’re reading, Mum – again, thank you very much!!

I’m looking forward to seeΒ what else my birthday has to bring…

  1. Looks like you had a lovely birthday with some great gifts. I am looking forward seeing the completed purse, I think it’s a great project as it’s such a useful item that you will use and appreciate so frequently! Sewing related gifts are my favourite too πŸ™‚

  3. Happy birthday! That really is a fantastic assortment of delights and the best thing about receiving sewing-related gifts is that they keep on giving for a long time. Have fun with them all! Oh, if that tin goes mysteriously missing at some point, you might find it stashed on my sewing table somewhere. It’s so gorgeous!

  4. What thoughtful gifts πŸ™‚ Will look forward to seeing your Coco and that purse is very cute too. And you have a long way to go before you need to worry about your age: in a couple of years I’ll be closer to 50 than 40 yikes! Now that is seriously old πŸ˜‰

    • Haha thank you πŸ™‚ I’m so excited to open it up! It’s wool and has fabric in there too so I’m guessing its lined… I think it’ll take me some time to complete but will share when its done and make you all jealous haha πŸ˜€

  6. Happy birthday! Approaching thirty isn’t that bad, I assure you! I’ve been there, past 30 and the rest and I’ve survived πŸ˜‰ Great gifts – might have to hint to my family for some similar loveliness when my birthday comes around!! Have a lovely day! S x

Yes I have read this and thank you, but you are worth it, and I hope it all brings you lots of happiness. Two points…the purse is tapestry and not embroidery and I thought good for times you cant sew for some reason and also something different for you to do and the second point was the pins – I bought the finest I could so I do hope they are sharp πŸ™‚ Keep me informed.
    Enjoy all the presents πŸ™‚
    Happy Birthday
    Mum xx

    • Mum, I think you should tell that to the people that made the TAPESTRY kit them because it says on it ’embroidery kit counted charts’!! It’s great to have something to do by hand. The pins do look very sharp! Thank you πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ xx
